"CLAIM AND BELIEVE"

"Today, I claim my Perfect Health."

This thought, very innocently, came to me yesterday after talking about the EMMYS 2010 and Eating (somehow, the 2 meshed together) on my music blog.
Something wonderful happened after that. I took a break, walked around the neighborhood and went to one of my favorite book stores. Something got my attention, a small beautifully packed box of recipes entitled EATING WELL -Healthy In A Hurry - there is my claim! Nature talking to me again, as usual! It was a wonderful experience, the start of something good.

This whole experience started when I text and emailed home to say a little prayer for me to be able to get this job offer at a nearby company. Somehow, I knew deep inside I was gonna get the job but it was my brother Mike's message to Claim and Believe that nailed it. So...

"Today, I claim my perfect job in Health."
"Today, I claim my perfect career in Music."

I no longer dream it, I live it!

Happy Birthday, again, Richel!

Afterthought

Coming out after the show and looking around, I saw the Ferry Building and, somehow, I miss my ferry boat ride to and from work. The most enjoyable, relaxing way to go to work and from work.

Aah...

PETER PAN

Magical! Wonderful! Fantastic - the flying will blow you away!

A Note from God

Somehow, clicking Bookmarks by mistake instead of History, I came across the story of Josepha Hendrina Stenmanns' Life and Spirituality. She was one of the co-founders of the religious congregation, Sister Servants of the Holy Spirit, headed by St. Arnold Janssen, whose congregation founded among others, College of the Holy Spirit, (formerly Holy Ghost College), all over the world, one of them, my alma mater in Manila.

This morning, I got a message from David Lynch Foundation whose profound work on teaching TM to high schools to eliminate school violence has been soaring with great success!

Put the 2 together, I got a note from God!

WOW! Got it, Lord... Thank you.

Gotta go, I've got work to do!  But I hear you, God!  Thanks again. I love you.

Reincarnation, Past Lives

Do I Believe in Past Lives?

To my limited human mind - YES! I've had experiences of past lives through dreams, deja vu, flashbacks, whatever else you call it, however else they happen, I believe.

Beyond my human mind, however, where time is timeless, subsequently, not defined as a continuum of anything from past to present to future, then past lives don't exist. Everything is happening all at the same time. Chaotic, huh! Or is it, really??

I was young when I got into Edgar Cayce. Before that I was into crossword puzzles till one day, my brother scolded me, "Instead of crossword puzzles, why not read books? Then you can use those words in a sentence. Otherwise, they're just words!"

He was right. I realized that later. Young and the youngest and stubborn, I finally obeyed him. (God, I couldn't even write the word "obeyed". Boy, was I really stubborn!) But I was never into novels, romance, fiction. I was always interested in the mind. I was fascinated by it, so the first book I ever bought out of my weekly allowance, therefore, I owned and was very proud of it, was entitled, THE POWER OF THE MIND. I loved it! And seeing it, my brother, one day, gave me a book on Edgar Cayce. That opened the world of THE MIND for me!

One of the things I remember profoundly about Cayce was when he was asked about his concept on TIME. He said, "As far as I know, Sigmund Freud is still in Medical School." - Unbelievable!

One of the best explanations I heard about past lives is this -
Imagine the radio is on and the radio dial, say, in the middle, is the present. That's what we're hearing right now. That's where we're on at present. Say, all stations to the left of the dial represent the past, and to the right, the future, so we have past-present-future. Now move the dial to the left to any station, those are your past lives, move it to the right, and that's your future. But remember, the radio dial represents the present, so wherever it goes, it is, at the moment, the present. So, if the dial is farther away from the middle, say, to the left, the present has moved to the past. At the same time, the past now becomes the present, and anything to the right of it extends to the future and vice versa, which means, the past and the future overlap, in fact, they all overlap! Also, just because the dial is presently on a particular station, and that's the only one we hear, it doesn't mean that the other stations are not playing. We just happen not to be on those frequencies. But they're all playing at the same time, they're all happening at the same time!

I think we are where we are, past-present-future, depending on our consciousness. But to a timeless existence, it's all NOW.

Still chaotic??

Do YOU believe in past lives?

ANGELS

Do you believe in angels? Or have you ever met people in your life, who for some reason, bring you good luck, good vibes and every time you see them, you just feel good, something good happens? Out of nowhere, they appear, they call, however! They're there! Or even when you know you'll see them, you just know something good will happen?

I've had experiences like that. There are people who I connect with this way and for lack of a better explanation, I call them ANGELS! My Angels! They're special to me, soooooo special! Sometimes, they're like God's messengers to me. God talks to us always and all ways. He tells me something and sometimes, He does it through these people.

One of them is Anna. We met in church one day many years ago and since then, every now and then, she'd appear in front of me, out of the blue, sometimes, we'd literally bump into each other. One time, as I approached communion in church after a long line, guess who was the minister right in front of me giving communion? When we see each other, we just say, "Hi, how are you?", yet that moment is like forever. We never really became close, meaning, we never exchanged phone numbers, email addresses, and the like. There is no need. We're already very close, like we've known each other forever. We'd see each other anywhere, everywhere, and each time, it feels good, not casual good, but special good!

Past lives, perhaps? Was she my mother in another life or older sister? I don't know but in this lifetime, I call her my angel! I've told her that several times. She just smiles, then when we separate, I feel she's quietly happily watching me even when she's not, physically, as sometimes we go opposite ways, or we're both in a hurry, yet I feel surrounded with such motherly love and protection. What a beautiful loving experience!

Another one is Maria. We're both clinical lab scientists, and somehow, she's like my adviser, supporter, protector, mentor. She's always there for me. She's a true friend, such a beautiful friend, someone I can really trust! Sometimes I find that we're there for each other when we both need help at work, off work, about work, or for some laughs or tears, or to share our "baon" (lunch box), and so on. Sometimes, we're like little children, innocent, or should I say, being adults, naive?! As much as I feel a childlike friendship with Maria, (again, perhaps, in another lifetime we were friends since we were little!), when it comes to serious matters in the lab, she's heaven-sent! Especially as I had been away from healthcare field far and wide and long in between, she's my angel!

I thank God each day for beautiful people like Anna and Maria.

And I thank you both, Anna, Maria, for being there for me. I'm so lucky. I love you both.

That Thing called LOVE

... It's a beautiful feeling, huh.

No Country for Old Men - AWESOME Trailer!!!!

Comment on - EAT PRAY LOVE

Haven't seen the movie yet but I'm curious, not because of Julia Roberts, she's one of the best actresses in Hollywood, no doubt, one of my favorites, everybody's favorite, but seriously, because of Javier Bardem. Javier was the bad guy in the movie, "No Country for Old Men", and that's an understatement. He terrorized a whole town and he was phenomenal as an actor! He scared the living daylights out of everybody - in the story and in the theaters! Everybody was scared of him. Everyone who saw the movie was scared of him. He was so real it was horrifying!

The next time I saw him was on TV at the OSCARS and who was his date - his mother! He was
so good-looking, such a sweet man, like a good son, and so utterly likable! He won the Best Supporting Actor for that role, the bad guy. Watching him on his seat at the Oscars, dashingly handsome, as he watched himself on the big screen, ugly and scary, was unbelievable! That's a real actor right there, a great one!

Now he's a romantic, a gentleman, at EAT PRAY AND LOVE. I've gotta see this! I'm in love with him!

'Eat, Pray, Love' Trailer HD

EAT PRAY LOVE

EAT PRAY LOVE, title of the current movie, reminds me of a Nike shirt - EAT SLEEP PLAY/REPEAT - love it! That's how to live life! That's what it's all about.

Alongside Yoga

I also started dancing and singing at home again today as part of my daily exercise, health and fitness program!

Care to join me?... CHEERS! Here's To LIFE and HEALTH!!

When Nature Talks...

After "vandalizing my wall" with DO YOGA, I went to the gym to do just that. I thought it was the right thing to do. I wrote DO YOGA over and over precisely to remind myself and get motivated. Honestly, though, I did my yoga 2 days in a row in the gym last week so it wasn't bad, I thought. So why all the signs??

Of course, my goal is to do it every day and night at home besides going to the gym. But I know that! I don't have to be reminded about that.

Nevertheless, I went and, would you believe, I did the headstand and plough pose after so many years. I haven't done this for sooooo long and today it happened naturally, effortlessly.

When Nature talks, there's a reason. Gotta listen...

About Nature

When Nature gives hints & signs one after another from all over - here, there, anywhere, everywhere, wherever you are, sit still. Here. Now. Be still... And know.

"SHINE!... SHINE!... SHINE!" - One of those "Aha!" moments. Today is one of those days! It's as if Lord Nature (I like that name!) is trying to tell me something and I finally "Got It!" Lately, Nature has been talking to me a lot. Well, Nature always talks to us everyday in the most simple ways, and when I am in tune, that's when I hear what Nature is telling me and everything suddenly clicks. I listen, sit still and let the miracle begin.

And miracles happen...

Thank you, Lord. Praise you.

More Hints & Signs!

Nature talks to us everyday. Lately, I've been seeing this writing on the streets, on sidewalks, DO YOGA. Who's been writing them?! On walls, that'll be called vandalism. Anyway, they may mean nothing to others, but for me, it's enough reminder to do it and everyday, too. I've been so busy lately. Just do it! No excuses.

DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA
DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA
DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA
DO YOGA DO YOGA DO YOGA
DO YOGA DO YOGA

Now, that's vandalism! But it's my own private wall so it's all right.

LEE RETINOUR & DAVE GRUSIN @ YOSHI'S

I also forgot about Lee Retinour & Dave Grusin Show at Yoshi's Oakland last 25th for the same reason, our school's Grand Alumna Reunion. Of course, I was not gonna miss that show for anything in the world, particularly because of my idol, Dave Grusin. I adore him! He's the musician of all musicians. In one of my posts last Xmas, I said that it was my dream to, one day, play with him on a world stage. I dream big, why not!

Well, last July 25, I had the chance to meet him personally after the show and I told him my dream. He probably thought I was crazy but I don't care. I went that far as to be able to meet him in person and had the guts to tell him my desire. That's a step closer to my dream!

You know, the one thing I learned from Dave Grusin in that show is not about music. He's great live as he is on his albums. Rather, I learned the virtue of humility from him. Here was an icon, a legend, a phenomenon, who I thought was gonna have a show side by side with Lee and there he was, just a sideman to Lee. Yes, they both had equal billing, precisely why I thought this was their show together. But it wasn't. It was Lee Retinour's show and Dave Grusin was just one of the "members" of the band. Lee did all the talking and Dave didn't even say a word. Clearly, it wasn't his show. And I thought, how could anybody, Lee, for that matter, allow Dave Grusin to be just a sideman??

But you know, musicians of their calibre, the best of the bests, they just play together, either as headliners or as THE band, or sidemen, it doesn't matter. There's NO ego! They're so great they're past it! They just play music and have fun, that's it! That's what music is all about!

Aah, beautiful reminder!

Belated Happy Birthday

I totally forgot my late brother M. Jesse's birthday last July 23rd because of our CHS GRAND ALUMNAE REUNION Jul 23-35.

Sorry, my dear brother. I love you. Rest in peace. Dasal nyong lumakas si Mama ha. Love to you and Papa and everybody on the other side.

GUILTY PLEASURES

All right, I had a Mrs. Field's cookie and I'm guilty. But, hey, I only had 1! Well, it's not the cookie that I'm guilty about. T'was semisweet chocolate chip cookie, so not bad, but what made me feel bad was, usually, I'd get a cookie or 2 at the most, only when I have loose change or singles in my purse. But to go back to my locker to get a $20.00 bill and break it just to buy a cookie, almost got 2 to justify spending more than $1.50 for my $20.00 bill!? Excuses, excuses...Hey, I'm geting there. I'm conscious of what I'm doing. Discipline, discipline, discipline, I know.

But, hey, when I was eating, a lady stopped right in front of me, apparently looking or waiting for someone. And right on my face, almost hitting me, was her handbag, and guess what was written all over it - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE......

There's a reason for everything, folks. Nature supports even my eating Mrs. Field's cookies, once in awhile!

Anyway, Love, it's all over me, in and out, so above, so below, around me, everywhere. Nature nurtures! I shall sit still here now. Amen to that! Amen.

From guilty pleasures to a new beginning, yeah. I like that. Love it!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

On LAND'S END Catalog I got today -

FALL, IN LOVE.

IT'S LOVE AT FIRST TOUCH.

WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE??

Talk About... Jyotish, Accidents and Coincidences!

I had just gotten online reading my friend, Mark Kincaid's jyotish readings on Planetary Wars, benefices/malefics, remedies, etc., especially for this month, and I was just about to tell Norman to be careful of accidents when we heard a loud noise on the street and when we checked outside the window, we saw a tree that had just fallen right by our window. It was a part of the tree that fell to the ground. Luckily, no one was hurt and we're fine, at least for now. We won't know until the tree is removed then we'll see if there was any damage done but I think we're all right.

We're fine. Thank God.

News of the Day

A Round Up of the Day's Events -
  • Heat Warning in the East Coast with 3-digit Temperatures and High Humidity
  • Thunderstorm in Washington
  • San Francisco is Colder than Alaska Today?!
  • Gulf Oil Spill Far from Over, Way Far from What Government is Saying
  • Unemployment Still High -
In Russell, Georgia, a church opened its doors for networking for the unemployed and has helped many people who have lost their jobs and find it hard to find work, who've lost hope or losing it. It's like a spiritual networking, people say, where they are realizing they're not alone. And volunteers come to help and without even having to say, "I'm here", their presence are felt and appreciated. It's like "loving your neighbor."
"It's genuine love. It's loving somebody you don't know."
And you see quite a few on their knees in prayer for strength, hope and thanks.
Inspiring story!

Sometimes, A Wishful Thinking!

This secret to living well, (My Secret to Living Well, July 2010), sometimes it's easier said than done, especially with so many music projects and a lot of catching up to do - in my life! But it still is the way to go for me. Thank God, I do TM, it really helps. Try TM, it works.

Incidentally, I've been seeing a lot of levi.com posters everywhere and I like their ads -

Go Forth.

There is a lot of work to be done and undone.

They seem to fit my lifestyle right now - busy, busy, busy! Lots of work to do and undo! Regardless, I still aim to go to bed early. It's just my quiet little way to end the day, nice and easy. Good night. ZZzz.....

RUSH, RUSH, RUSH!!!

WHY??? WHAT FOR???

Talk About... Hints & Signs!

We had a concert at the store the other week and the artist, (how can I forget the name, I know him so well?!), played a beautiful arrangement of the Beatles' song, "In My Life". On our way home, inside the BART, a young father and his sons "serenaded" the passengers. They were not street musicians, just trying to "make an honest living" with their music.  And they also sang the Beatles' "In My Life", in fact, it was their first song!

What is the connection there? We know how Nature talks to us, sometimes in the most mundane things. But when it repeats itself, back to back, at that, you just know there's more to it than just the events recurring, a mere coincidence! I don't know the lyrics, but somehow it behooves you to reflect on Life - our lives together, Norman and me, as we both heard the song together same day same time twice, and also as individuals.
As soon as we reached home, I googled the lyrics and here they are -

There are places I remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

So simple yet so deep - BEAUTIFUL!

Aah, Love Hints!

LOVE just keeps comin'! What is that old saying," Love knows no reason." - love it!
